What is SupaHydrate?

Water Tracker by SupaHydrate® is an iPhone hydration app made by indie developer André Grillo (Supa Studio). Unlike simple water counters, it uses the Beverage Hydration Index — published by Maughan et al. in 2016 in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition — combined with USDA FoodData Central nutrition data to calculate how each of 100+ drink types actually hydrates your body. Water scores 1.0, tea and coffee 0.85–0.95 (mild diuretic effect), electrolyte drinks 1.1, sports drinks 1.05.
